Galgotias University was recently honoured for its academics and global linkages at DQ CyberMedia ICT Awards 2013. Narendra Modi, Gujarat chief minister, handed over the award to Suneel Galgotia, chancellor, Galgotias University, at the ceremony, which was held in Delhi on January 20.
The university was noted for its linkages with institutions such as Georgia Tech, Purdue University, Goethe University, Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, Kent State University, among others in the US and Europe, for its syllabi and research cluster linkages.
Both industry and education leaders at the event concurred that the university develops intellectual capital systems and provides industry with a national-level technology candidate pool. The Indian industry has been going to the campus every year to recruit.
The university attempts to provide a balanced education ecosystem. This year, to raise its standards, it has launched the Galgotias Engineering Entrance Examination (GEEE), an all-India level exam for engineering aspirants. “Our endeavour is to ensure higher education’s rightful place as a key driver of national growth and to place the Indian education system at the pinnacle alongside some of the well-known institutes across the world,” said Suneel Galgotia on receiving the award.
